Examination Pattern & Assessment Schedule
Examination & Evaluation Policy
The school, being affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), follows an assessment and evaluation framework in accordance with the guidelines of CBSE and the educational principles prescribed by NCERT. The system is designed to ensure systematic, continuous and holistic assessment of students’ learning and development.
Kindergarten
Students are assessed continuously throughout the academic year across scholastic and co-scholastic areas.
Summative assessments are conducted at the end of designated learning periods to evaluate cumulative learning outcomes.
Progress reports are issued to parents following each terminal assessment. Promotion to the next grade is determined on the basis of the student’s overall performance throughout the academic year, including the annual assessment.
Classes I – VIII
Students are assessed through Monday Cycle Tests and Term Examinations throughout the academic session.
- Monday Cycle – I: Begins in April
- Monday Cycle – II: Begins in July
- Half-Yearly Examination: September
- Monday Cycle – III: Begins in November
- Annual Examination: February
Classes IX and XI
- First Periodic Examination: June
- Half-Yearly Examination: September
- Second Periodic Examination: November

Classes X and XII
- First Periodic Examination: June

- First Pre-Board Examination: November
- Second Pre-Board Examination: January

Promotion Policy
The school’s promotion policy is designed to provide a fair and transparent assessment of each student’s overall progress during the academic year. Promotion is based on academic performance, attendance, regularity, discipline and overall conduct.
- Assessment Schedule: Classes I–IX&XI have two Periodic Assessments and two Term-End Examinations. Students are expected to appear for all scheduled assessments.
- Medical/Exceptional Absence: In case of a genuine medical or exceptional circumstance, an exemption may be considered with prior information and appropriate supporting documents.
- Promotion Criteria: Students are required to secure a minimum of 33% aggregate marks for promotion to the next grade.
- Attendance Requirement: A minimum of 75% attendance is required to be eligible to appear for examinations.
- Absence from Examination: Absence from an examination, including for medical reasons, does not carry additional marks or affect the awarding of rank or position.
